Governor Murphy's Chief Counsel Joins Lowenstein as White Collar Defense Partner.
Parimal Garg, Chief Counsel to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, will join Lowenstein Sandler as a partner in their White Collar Defense and Business Litigation groups in November. Garg has served as Chief Counsel since October 2020, making him the longest-serving Governor's Counsel in New Jersey history. In this role, he managed a team of 25 attorneys and advised the Governor on various legal matters.
Garg's tenure as Chief Counsel was marked by significant achievements, including managing the selection process for four Supreme Court Justices and over 160 Superior Court judges, overseeing executive orders during the COVID-19 pandemic, and directing the administration's involvement in thousands of bills that became law. He also supervised the state's position in numerous important civil litigation matters.
Garg's addition to Lowenstein Sandler continues the firm's trend of attracting accomplished former public servants and prosecutors. The firm's litigation team already includes several prominent former government officials, enhancing its depth and breadth of expertise in serving clients across various sectors.
