Kirkland & Ellis Expands Debt Finance Practice with Addition of Freshfields Partner H.T. Flanagan.
Kirkland & Ellis has strengthened its debt finance practice by hiring H.T. Flanagan, a former partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, as a debt finance partner in Dallas and New York. This move comes after Kirkland combined its debt finance and structured finance teams earlier this year to create a single group, capitalizing on client demand for comprehensive expertise in these areas.
Flanagan brings significant experience in private credit and liability management to Kirkland, which boasts the world's largest debt finance practice with over 500 private equity clients. His expertise includes advising private credit funds, alternative lenders, and investors on various financing transactions, as well as representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies in leveraged finance deals.
Kirkland's leadership, including senior debt finance partner Dave Nemecek and firm chairman Jon A. Ballis, expressed enthusiasm about Flanagan's addition to the team. They highlighted his skills in handling complex financing issues and his deep private credit experience as valuable assets for the firm's clients.
