Return to Feed

Kirkland & Ellis Welcomes Freshfields Debt Finance Partner HT Flanagan to New York and Dallas Offices.

HT Flanagan, a former Freshfields debt finance partner, has joined Kirkland & Ellis' debt finance group in New York and Dallas. Flanagan brings extensive experience in private credit, liability management, and leveraged finance transactions to Kirkland's already robust debt finance practice, which boasts over 300 dedicated lawyers and more than 500 private equity clients.

Dave Nemecek, a senior debt finance partner at Kirkland, highlighted Flanagan's expertise in handling complex financing issues, particularly in the growing private credit sector. Flanagan's experience includes advising private credit funds, alternative lenders, and investors on various financing matters, as well as representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies in borrower-side leveraged finance transactions.

Flanagan, who joined Freshfields in New York last year from Weil Gotshal & Manges, will primarily work out of Kirkland's Dallas office while also spending significant time in New York. This move aligns with the increasing focus of private client firms on the Dallas market.
