Former Federal Prosecutor Matthew Yelovich Joins Cleary Gottlieb's Bay Area Office.
Cleary Gottlieb has announced the addition of Matthew Yelovich as a partner in their Bay Area offices. Yelovich, who most recently served as the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California, will join the firm's Americas litigation practice.
Yelovich brings extensive experience in federal prosecution, having worked on high-profile cases such as those involving Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and one of the largest cryptocurrency seizures in DOJ history. As part of Cleary's enforcement and litigation team, he will focus on internal and government investigations, complex civil litigation, and appeals.
During his tenure at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Yelovich oversaw approximately 100 federal criminal prosecutors and 15 supervisors. He has also served as Appellate Chief, supervising all briefing and arguments at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. His experience and expertise are expected to significantly enhance Cleary's West Coast capabilities and credibility in the courtroom.
